BRIEF BIO

Kevin Mardesich began his Hollywood career running the Story Department at three-time Oscar-winner Oliver Stone's story development company. Next, Kevin helped execute communications for Fox's entertainment channels. These included National Geographic, FX, Fox Sports, and Fox Movie Channel. He currently runs Mardesich Communications -- a full-service communications company for film, streaming, and other industry leaders. Kevin specializes in writing and helps each client tell their story: press releases, scripts, ads, documentary shorts, and other narratives and content. Sample projects include 14 communication campaigns for the marketing agency, Troika (ESPN and Apple.com).  Kevin also wrote and co-produced MTV’s Emmy-winning interactive films, “Take A Stand Against Violence.”  These films helped decrease youth violence and were praised by The White House.  Additionally, Kevin produced over 40 filmed interviews and documentary-short for nonprofits in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Cali, Colombia. More recently, he led story, documentary short, and content training in Europe funded by US AID (Agency for International Development).  Here, he coached activists and PhDs in social media stories to help stand-up to authoritarianism.  Kevin also teaches these story and marketing skills part-time at Stanford, Fordham University business school in NYC, USC, and other programs. FEATURE BIO

Kevin Mardesich is a full-service communications expert. A writer, producer, and marketer, he helps Oscar, Emmy, and other industry-leaders develop stories across platforms. His skills include story development, copywriting, screenwriting, speechwriting, branding, public relations, documentary shorts, and other forms of narrative. Kevin's career includes supporting award-winning stories across such areas. For example, he developed scripts for Oscar winners Milos Forman and Oliver Stone. Kevin also wrote and produced MTV’s Emmy-winning interactive films, “Take A Stand Against Violence.” These films helped decrease youth violence and were praised by The White House.

Understanding that both Hollywood and Washington, D.C. are storytelling centers, Kevin's expertise has reached many staff from current and former White House administrations. His D.C. expertise includes youth violence, 9/11's crisis management, and Russian aggression. This builds on his experience developing global brands that seek peace and cultural understanding, e.g., National Geographic. After executing communications in-house for Nat Geo and seven other FOX-owned entertainment networks (FX, FOX Sports, FOX Movie Channel, etc.), Kevin founded Mardesich Communications. Here, he led 14 communication campaigns for the Emmy-winning ad agency, Troika, and their clients, e.g., Apple.com and ESPN. He also wrote and produced over 40 filmed-interviews and documentary-shorts for universities, global nonprofits, and industry leaders. Most recently, he worked for US AID (Agency for International Development) in Europe to help fight extremism by developing stories across social-media channels

Kevin began this educational-half of his career in 2004 by teaching Communications for The Entertainment Industry part-time at The University of Texas at Austin’s #1-ranked Advertising Program (2010, Journal of Advertising Education). Kevin was then recommended by the L.A. Times' entertainment-business editor and recruited by Chapman University’s Film School to be full-time media arts faculty. In four years, he won six teaching awards. Both his Business Presentations NSAC students and Chapman Film School spiked in national rankings (Hollywood Reporter, 2010). Kevin next taught at UCLA Extension for 13 years where his adult-leaners' ads "went viral" while another short-film was Oscar nominated. Currently, Kevin teaches part-time for Stanford, USC, and Fordham University graduate business school in NYC. He can be reached at: Kevin@KevinMardesich.com.
